Xmas mini-series and lunch 2022 match report

Mini Series Match Report: About a dozen hard, seasoned, dedicated Laser sailors ( where was Peter Gordon…?!!) arrived at the Club on time to be greeted with 0.1 kts gusting 1 kt… the inevitable slipway discussion took place as to what to do…. Phones and Apps were consulted, 23 kts at Portland, 12 kts at Swanage, Bob Cudmore’s forecast…. After 30 minutes of deliberations our Captain took responsibility for leadership head on and declared the event abandoned….. This decision was met with good cheer as warmer, more comfortably enticing ways of spending a Saturday morning emerged…. As 7 hearty souls commenced a lovely stroll to the town quay for coffee, the wind filled in to all of 7 kts, Bob looked on…. Roberta lead most of the way to the cafe with Colston trailing unusually at the back of the fleet somewhat distracted…. David H and Gary enjoyed their usual mid fleet tussle but as usual David screeched ahead to enter the cafe just ahead of G. Bob was well placed in the top half with Gayle putting in a solid mid fleet result being the first to order a cappuccino…. The beat home was a runaway first for Gayle and G as they got ahead and stayed for the entire walk home; impressive, or so they thought….

Xmas lunch was a triumph; great food, fine company, good craic, stunning views and our internationally renown, world famous rendition of 12 days of Xmas beautifully lead by Roberta…. the video is posted elswhere for those unable to join us, to enjoy…….!!!! Huge thanks to Captain Mike for all the organisation that lead to a really enjoyable day….. Happy Xmas…
