We embrace and encourage all forms of sailing – from cruising to racing, dinghies to yachts, from the harbour to bay and beyond. We strive to accommodate the needs of all sailors from young to old, beginners to advanced. We encourage members to develop their skills and capabilities and to take on volunteer roles, providing training where possible. Our on-water activities are supported by an active social programme.
We aim to retain a healthy and stable membership with a diverse profile by demographic, lifestage and sailing interest. We encourage members and family members to participate fully in all aspects of club life. Our members recognise and embrace that volunteering is a critical part of our activity.
We invest in the best facilities that we can afford, including clubhouse, yard, haven, boats, equipment and systems. We operate with high standards of health and safety.
We engage positively and supportively with the harbour master, harbour clubs and other stakeholders in the local area. We contribute to and influence our sport at the regional and national level.
We aspire to reach the highest standards in everything we do, both on and off the water. We embrace change, and challenge ourselves to continually improve.
We recognise that we are temporary custodians of our club, the harbour and the planet. We seek to make prudent and long-term decisions that will ensure the continued viability and strength of the club and its environment. We aim to leave a positive and lasting legacy for future generations.
