Recorded during a training day by Adam Bowers, the video illustrates the effect of pole height on the stability of the spinnaker. Initially the luff of the spinnaker can be seen to be quite unstable with a tendency to collapse quickly across the leading third. Raising the spinnaker pole end six inches makes the sail much easier to trim with now just a gentle flicks of the luff indicating the trim.
