VOLUNTEERING SIGNAL
Didn’t you do well!
You did over 1000 volunteering sessions in August over and above your usual slots! A massive 816 volunteer sessions in Youth Week and another 250 in Poole Week. New members were especially keen to get involved and I know they enjoyed meeting other members and seeing the breath of Club activities.
Calling all budding youth race officers
A big shout out for 15 year-old Henry Keates, who was a key member of the RO team on the Platform during the whole of a very busy and windy Poole Week. We want more of you! If you’re 14 or over and interested in getting involved in running the adult racing, email me
[email protected]
Upcoming volunteer opportunities
With autumn approaching, now is your chance to try out a new role. If you generally drive a patrol boat, how about coming up on the Platform? Like to see what goes on on the yacht racing committee, boat? Get involved in the teams running open meetings? Fancy stepping up from ARO to being the main RO but nervous about getting it wrong? Now is the perfect chance to be mentored by someone more experienced. To find out more, email me [email protected]
New members - still wondering who’s who? Need a few more sign offs in your logbook? I’m here to help. Email me [email protected]
And finally…
The Club-wide Team Racing Fun Away Day is on Saturday 4th October out at Spinnaker Sailing Club near Ringwood. We still have a few volunteering opportunities available ashore and afloat, during the day and in the early evening. Email me if you’re interested, [email protected]. And why not come out to Spinnaker anyway and enjoy the fun, it’s a great spectator location and lots of us will be there, new friends and old.
That’s all, folks! Keep up the good work and have fun volunteering.
